Developed and owned the internal shared memory based high performance packet data transportation module. Developed various features related to the module including zero copy, dead peer detection, dynamic load balancing, auto snapshots, huge pages support, etc. Responsible for performance issues (including NSS lab tests) on ASA/FTD. Tuned system performance for various platforms before first product releases. Improved TCP throughputs for high-end FTD platforms by 29% including NUMA changes. Recovered performance degradation on platforms using Intel Skylake CPUs. Designed and led the ASA/FTD tunnel de-capsulation feature. Developed FP2100 series platform (Cavium Octeon NPU + Intel CPU). Handled many sustaining work and escalations. Cisco ASA-CX Next-Gen Firewall Primarily focused on TLS Proxy Module. Profiled and improved throughput for TLS proxy by 16%. Greatly improved the stability of the module (Tiger team), implemented EC ciphers support, server certificates caching and enabling multiple TLS proxy instances (multi-threading and multi-processing) which further improved performance.
